Blazing Saddles (1974)

An enjoyable if not ablazing satire with a good offering of funny lines and gags. Some scenes are a bit bland but others are laugh-out-loud funny (see the chaotic descent into Hollywood meta-ness at the end) so it evens out to decent comedy. Ultimately, Brooks’ hilariously naughty and inept governor and the likeable buddy-duo of Little and Wilder’s Bart and Jim drive forward a fun movie with a surprisingly coherent plot.
7/10 (Good)
